On August 24 2011, Nikon announced the flagship Coolpix P7100 advanced compact camera. It features RAW-format capture and serves as a replacement for the existing Coolpix P7000. The Coolpix P7100 uses the same 10.1 Megapixels 1/1.7-inch CCD imager that’s inside the P7000, as well as the same 7.1x optical zoom VR-stabilized lens with two ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) elements.
